Dim lit, intimate seating. Has two levels, which I think helps making it feel smaller and quieter. Service is amazing and exactly what you expect in a fine dining establishment. Food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Pricing is what we need expected. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

After a terrible experience at another downtown 5-star??restaurant we took refuge at the chop house to try and salvage our ev Ning. THIS WAS the BEST dining experience I have had in a long time. They service presentation and food was over the top. Strongly recommend for any special occasion or really any desire for a great meal in a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I brought my wife here for her 33rd birthday as a surprise. We were completely in love from start to finish. Our waiter Nick was excellent. We started with the sea scallops which were cooked to perfection in a delicious sauce. Every dish we ordered was 100% perfection. The ambience here is dark with dim lighting - just how we like it. The cherry on top: rose pedals and a candle for my wife's birthday. Ps - can we talk about the cheesy bread?!?

Ummmmmm do yourself a favor and come to this restaurant. I am extremely picky about my steak, and I have never had a better one than this. It was quite pricy, but I think it was worth it for a special occasion. All of the sides were fantastic as well as the apps. We had lobster bites and I literally still dream about them weeks later. The service was wonderful, and we had a very big group. She was great. It's quite dark in here, but I think that's just standard for nice steak houses. I would absolutely come back if I'm back in town next year for the same work event!

You just can't go wrong here. Service, atmosphere, food quality is all excellent. Reminds me of a steakhouse in Manhattan, but without the attitude and the smell of urine on the streets!

I love the Chop House. We go there when celebrating a birthday or anniversary. We always feel specially and treated with utmost respect by the staff. My go to is the porterhouse steak, which i can share with my wife. I can be a bit dark, but it added to the romantic vibe to our night. They have much more than steaks. Port chops, seafood, soups, salads all are creative and well prepared. it is in my top 5 rest in GR.

Going to celebrate a birthday. We all wore black for the death to the 20s. I ordered the filet medium rare and it was amazing. Please read on their cooking temps as they are not typical. The French onion soup was good but it was typical to me. The sides? They were wonderful. My favorite was the asparagus. I could eat a plate of just that. The mushrooms and the potato side were great too. The carrot cake was spot on. I regret I ate so much before it came. The service was spot on. You will definitely feel taken care of here. They did amazing with the ambiance and the presentation. It's pricy but it's definitely worth the price point.

We had a group of ten for a business dinner. It was a wonderful experience with top notch food and impeccable service. Our waiter, Grayson was a true delight. He was attentive and well versed on the menu, the cocktails and wine list. Our table had an everything from steak to fish to lamb chops. We topped off the night with Espresso martini's.

This is one of the nicer restaurants in Grand Rapids. I have been to my fair share of nice steak houses. I would not say this is the best one but I would put it in the top 3. I would highly recommend reservations. We had a 6:15pm time and were seated promptly to a nice booth. It felt very comfortable and cozy. The restaurant is dimly lit to create a nice ambience. The menus are digital tablets and easy to use. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Now ... the food. We skipped an appetizer because I knew I had to try a dessert. (They make the desserts "in-house".) I started with the Chopped BLT Salad. It was a very basic salad with a nice blue cheese dressing. My husband and I both ordered the NY strip, but his was dry-aged and mine was not. Big difference in our steaks. His steak was near perfection. Mine ... unfortunately was a little tough and chewy. I ate about half of it. The whole time I was thinking that I should have ordered a fish dish instead. It was the sides and desserts that impressed me the most. The mushrooms were so buttery and delicious. My favorite part was the carrot cake at the end. So, if I came back, I would 100% get a dry aged steak and probably try one of the soups. This is a nice restaurant and you can tell that they try to pull out all the stops. I like how they simultaneously place all the plates on the table at the same time. And people are always coming to check on you. But I was a little disappointed with my steak.

Visiting GR area for a few days. Our B&B recommended The Chop House for our 15yr anniversary dinner. So glad we came. Dinner was amazing. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Rose petals on tablecloth, dessert decorated. They really made us feel special. Our server Eric was attentive and personable. We will visit again when we are in town.
